SmileTime is a reputable and fast-growing oral cosmetics and home teeth whitening company based in the UK.
The brand has been featured in a number of large magazines and newspapers.
They were kind enough to reach out and offer to send me their LED Teeth Whitening Kit in exchange for an honest review, so here’s an account of my experience.
LED Teeth Whitening Kit
The kit comes in a sturdy, well-built box containing:
- 3 Syringes of teeth whitening gel
- An LED light
- A mouth tray
- An instruction card
- A results chart
It’s enough to last for 6 days.
How to Use the Teeth Whitening Kit
- It’s recommended you brush your teeth with SmileTime’s bamboo toothbrush and/or charcoal powder
- Remove the transparent plastic tab underneath the batteries in the back of the LED light
- Attach the mouth piece to the LED light
- Evenly apply 1/4 of a syringe to the top of the mouth tray and 1/4 to the bottom
- Insert the tray into your mouth and turn the LED light on
- Apply for 15-30mins
- Rinse your mouth with water and repeat for 6 consecutive days for the first use of the kit
Experience: What is Home Teeth Whitening Like?
I don’t doubt that brushing your teeth with charcoal powder first (which also has a whitening effect) would be beneficial, but I just brushed my teeth with my own regular bamboo toothbrush and my regular toothpaste. I did this before going to bed, so I wouldn’t consume any food or drink after treatment.
I treated my teeth for the maximum 30mins every night.
Because of the size and shape of the mouth piece, you can expect your mouth to get tired after around 15mins each time. It also generates a lot of saliva…

I think 15-20mins is more of a happy and comfortable medium, and if I did another round of treatments I definitely wouldn’t go for the full 30mins.
Overall, the process is very simple and the experience was not unpleasant.
The downside to this teeth whitening kit is the shape of the mouth piece:
Because the sides are not as high as the front, you can only really whiten the front portion of your teeth.
Results: Teeth Whitening Before and After
Considering how easy it was to use this product, I’m impressed with the results.
It’s really hard to capture on camera, but on the shade guide I was a fairly consistent 10 at the front and around the sides BEFORE treatment:
And I finished around a 6 at the front:
If nothing else, my front teeth are noticeably brighter.
You can see the far left tooth is a much darker shade, where the tray didn’t reach.
Once you finish the initial 6 day treatment, SmileTime offer a 1, 2 or 3 month subscription on their Teeth Whitening Gel Refills.
The refills only need to be used once every 1-2 weeks, so it’s super easy to maintain your pearly whites.
I definitely think the LED Teeth Whitening Kit needs to be supplemented with something like a charcoal teeth whitening powder in order to reach your side teeth too. I wouldn’t want to have sparkling white front teeth and yellow sides, but since I’m not at the sparkling white stage yet, I’m satisfied.
Considering how much I hate my teeth, SmileTime has truly made a difference to me and I’m extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to try this product.
I think the next step of my teeth whitening journey will be charcoal powder.
I would 100% recommend giving this product a try if you’re looking to get whiter teeth or even just brighten your front teeth slightly without breaking the bank.
All of this can be done in the comfort of your own home, with no disruption to your daily routine. No horrible dentists, no crazy costs.
